Fifth & Sixth Grade Teachers

LisaLisa Van Prooyen, 5th Grade English & Science                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Mrs. Van Prooyen was born in Wisconsin and has lived all over the US and in Germany.  She graduated Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and German.   Mrs. Van Prooyen started her career in education teaching conversational German to adults and then earned her elementary and secondary teaching certification through post-graduate studies at Texas State University.   She has taught at the high school and elementary levels, most recently teaching 3rd grade. She relocated to Santa Rosa with her husband and three sons in 2010 to be closer to family. In her free time, Mrs. Van Prooyen loves to read, road bike and travel.  She is excited to join the SRFACS family and share her love of reading and science with her students.

M. TeiebMohamed Teieb, Fifth Grade French Teacher                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     M. Teieb was born in North of France near the Belgium border. He studied Mathematics and economy in Université de Valenciennes then obtained a Bachelor degree in Université de Lille. He started teaching in 2005. M. Teieb taught fifth grade students during the 8 years he worked in the school where he had been a student. He likes to have the others believe that he's strict but in fact he likes to teach while having fun with his students. M. Teieb likes to travel, discover new cultures, new people, and exchange with them. He also likes sports. He has played soccer for 25 years in the same club then he started running. He is very proud to have completed a marathon.

Ms. SullivanKristin Sullivan,  Sixth Grade Math & Science Teacher                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Ms. Sullivan was born in Portland, Oregon and moved to the Bay Area when she was five. She earned her B.A. in psychology at CSU, Fresno and received her multiple subject CLAD teaching credential at Sonoma State University. She fondly remembers her elementary school teachers, and it was her 6th grade teacher in particular that motivated her to become an educator. She has been teaching since 1998 mostly in upper elementary and middle school. She believes in getting to know the whole child in order to find their spark of interest and use those interests to create lifelong learners. In her free time, she loves to camp and hike with her two boys, read, and scrapbook her many pictures. She is excited to be joining the staff and be a part of this dynamic school.

Dianna DarrowDianna Darrow, Sixth Grade English Teacher                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Mrs. Darrow is from the Golden State of California where she has earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Multiple Subject Teaching Credentials with CLAD. She has taught in San Diego, CA for three years as a visiting teacher, and taught English and Science to Sixth Graders. She was part of Learning On the Go, which allowed her to fully embed technology into her classroom curriculum. Mrs. Darrow is looking forward to  sharing her enthusiasm and passion for teaching English with the SRFACS community.
